Community First Development is seeking to appoint an Impact and Learning Manager to cultivate organisational efficiency, growth and innovation, through managing a diverse range of strategic and impact-focused initiatives. This requires leadership, critical and analytical thinking, a high degree of emotional intelligence and the ability to adapt and use initiative when faced with challenges and opportunities. The Impact and Learning Manager supports and works closely with staff across the organisation including the Senior Leadership team and the Community Development team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage major funder reporting and contribute to major funder proposals and relationships.

  • Manage learning and development activities aimed at strengthening community development practice, including monitoring and evaluation, within the organisation.

  • Provide government relations advice and support to the CEO and General Manager Impact and Strategy.

  • Strengthen the organisation’s approach to demonstrating impact through building on the existing impact framework and supporting research activities.

  • Adhere to all workplace policies, including Workplace Health and Safety.

CORE CRITERIA

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and use initiative and flexibility when faced with challenges and opportunities.

  • Demonstrated people and project management experience including the ability to prioritise conflicting needs and execute multiple tasks efficiently and within tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated high level writing ability including experience with preparing submissions, reports, proposals, briefings and other written content.

  • Demonstrated research and monitoring and evaluation skills.

  • Proven emotional intelligence and communication skills in leading and managing people, mentoring and working within teams.

  • Proven ability to work in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, stakeholders and communities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A formal qualification or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education in social sciences, monitoring and evaluation, community development or similar.

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role.
