We are looking for an experienced Relationship Manager to join our team and grow our national and international partnerships.

Community First Development is a First Nations-led organisation working with communities to strengthen health, education, culture, and economic outcomes. We partner with organisations across Australia and globally to support projects that are community-led, culturally grounded, and values-driven.

We’re seeking an experienced Relationship Manager to steward, grow, and strengthen partnerships that uphold self-determination and create meaningful, long-term impact for First Nations peoples.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • As Relationship Manager, you will:

    Build, manage, and grow partnerships with philanthropic organisations, high-net-worth individuals, and other key stakeholders to advance community priorities.

  • Work closely with the CEO, Board, and Executive team to strengthen engagement with First Nations communities and partners.

  • Ensure funding and partnerships align with community-led solutions and long-term goals.

  • Develop compelling communications, proposals, and presentations that tell the story of First Nations-led change.

  • Support budgeting, reporting, and project management to safeguard the organisation’s reputation and effectiveness.

This role is strategic and relational – you will not only manage partnerships, but also advocate for community needs, protect cultural integrity, and ensure that relationships contribute to self-determined outcomes.

ABOUT YOU

You bring:

  • A minimum of four years’ experience in relationship management, strategic communications, marketing, or a similar role.

  • Strong cultural competency and lived experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Experience in project management, CRM systems, and partnership development.

  • Qualifications in communications, marketing, public relations, or equivalent experience are desirable.
